Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, provides easy techniques any person can master. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and environment. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. While growing up in New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced my most memorable time in my life. It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. After graduating Chef Burrell lived in Italy for one year taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin star restaurant) located in Tuscany. While in Italy the chef developed an appreciation for and appreciation for Italian culinary traditions. It made a huge impact on how she views food. Burrell is a well-known ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. Burrell is often a guest speaker at conferences and travels across the nation as part of her mentorship role. Anne was always grateful that she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
